Job Summary:
Sexy Nerds is seeking a talented and creative Graphic Designer to join our team. This role is pivotal in creating high-impact visual assets that promote our events and important announcements. You will be responsible for designing event posters, and arranging visuals for other assets such as flyers, banners, signage, and more. We want someone who can create in the existing visual and design language of Sexy Nerds and continue to expand our visual capabilities. This remote position offers flexible hours with the potential to expand into other creative areas such as video, merchandise design, and character and mascot creation and management.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and produce creative assets including promotional posters, event flyers, and featured guest showcases.
Repurpose graphics by adding innovative borders, text overlays, and adjusting layouts to suit different platforms and media.
Maintain a cohesive visual style across all materials in line with our brand guidelines.
Collaborate with Creative Director to generate ideas and convert them into compelling graphic visuals.
Manage asset libraries, and PSD files, ensuring all graphics are organized and easily accessible for team use.
Stay updated on visual and creative design trends and aesthetics and best practices.
Key Qualifications:
Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and familiar and confidence with Midjourney and/or similar AI design tools. Adobe Illustrator also helpful.
Experience with basic to intermediate text manipulation, using tools like Photoshop and familiar with resources like dafont.com.
Understanding of font usage, image rights, and visual design principles.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Ability to take direction, and understand overall design language and guidelines of the brand.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Creative flair with a strong visual sense.
Previous experience in graphic design, preferably within a similar industry.
Proficient and able to work in Google Suites including: Drive, Sheets, Docs, Meet, and other relevant shared work platforms.
Problem-solving ability and adaptability to handle unexpected challenges.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A passion for creating lively and engaging event atmospheres.
Creative thinker with the ability to innovate and problem-solve under pressure.
Ability to work flexible hours, make time for team meetings, and meet deadlines.
Compensation:
The role offers $30+/hr or project based details to be discussed.
Working Conditions:
This role involves delivering assets in a time-sensitive manner. This job also involves delivering the assets in line with brand guidelines and content expectations.
The job requires access to a computer to design with, internet, preferably and Adobe Creative Cloud account of your own preferred.
