About the Position:
The goal of the Channel Moderator is to manage and grow Sexy Nerds’ social media accounts. The primary mission of the Channel Moderator is to build a safe and inviting online space for our fans and community to interact.
Our platforms include IG, Facebook, Twitter, Discord, and more. The channel moderator will focus on growing the Sexy Nerds Twitter and Discord with involvement in the live IG and FB channels.
Duties and Responsibilities
Breakdown: The work of the Position breaks down as approximately:
65% Online channel management and posting
25% Strategic meetings and internal communications.
10% Live/online event and stream management.
(65%) Online Channel Management and Posting
The Channel Mod will help make sure our Discord server is active, relevant, and fostering a healthy online community. The first steps for channel management are to help launch our Discord channel, and kickstart our Twitter account. After these two main channels are established, we have further interest in activating other Discord servers, more Twitter accounts, and Facebook Groups and other channel;s of interest.
(25%) Strategic Meetings and Internal Communications
With multiple projects and brands it is very important to us that we communicate clearly whenever we have people’s attention. It is important that our public communications reflect our internal mission. Meeting regularly is essential to discuss what we need to do, what we are doing, and what has been done.
(15%) Live/Online Event and Stream Management
We have plans to put together some really cool online events. In addition to these, we will have some key live events that take place for our community. When online events take place, proper notice, promotion and engagement with our key channels (Discord, Twitter, Live Comments) will be key to success. As we progres, further work like live Q&A, comment moderating, and more become central to the role.
(40%) Online Channel Management and Posting
Post regular IG wall posts on Sexy Nerds and BKCC IG channels weekly.
Prepare and send out mailing list blasts.
Post updates in Facebook event pages and on key FB groups.
Post weekly raffle giveaway instructional and winner posts on key channels.
(25%) Strategic Meetings and Internal Communications
Participate in strategy meetings and input feedback where helpful.
Report on to do, doing, and done tasks and responsibilities.
Take interest or initiative on certain project points where relevant.
(15%) Live/Online Event and Stream Management
Help us set up and operate live streams and online events.
Help us maximize the engagement with live online viewers.
Help us emphasize/communicate important messages when needed.
Be nice, and cool, and chill.
Qualifications Requested:
The Channel Moderator is like a social media manager / brand ambassador hybrid.
Knowledge and experience with online channels and community building.
Dialed into media culture, an early adopter. In tune with the latest channels.
A passion and focus for at least one type of fandom (gaming, comics, anime etc.)
Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects a plus.
Interest in any of: blockchain/crypto, memes, and/or cannabis a plus.
Interest in entrepreneurship/personal development is a plus.
Active or historic member of the Sexy Nerds community is a big plus!
Compensation and Benefits
The Channel Moderator position will start off with a freelance consulting format.
$20/Hr starting rate for 5-10 hours billed per week.
