About the Position:
As a Comics Consultant, your primary goal is to help enrich the content, event, and creative experiences of our brands and events. We represent a handful of brands in our portfolio, including our flagship, Sexy Nerds, and our convention, Brooklyn Comic Con. We have numerous upcoming projects and assets, including more parties, more conventions, pop-up exhibits, a streetwear line, Mega Meme, podcasts, online content, creative activations and more.
The Comics Consultant will work closely with our team to ensure that our Comic-related online content, events, and in-person and online experiences are authentic, engaging, and entertaining for Comics fans. The focus of the role is to work with our team on planning meetings, brainstorming on possible content, collaboration, and creative activation ideas. The role could also extend into content management as well as live-event work and management depending on interest and skills. The Comics Consultant will primarily work on online channels and live events, ensuring that our Comic content is consistent with our brand and mission.

The Comics Consultant’s main role will be to participate on an invite basis and be an active participant in meetings with the production team, including brainstorming sessions, planning meetings, and project status updates. They will contribute their expertise and knowledge of the Comic industry to help guide decision-making and ensure that the creative vision of each project is aligned with industry standards and trends. Additionally, the Comic Consultant will be responsible for communicating updates and feedback to the rest of the team and helping to manage schedules and timelines.
(40%) Content Editing and Planning
The Comic Consultant will propose, review, and enhance our blog articles, event ideas, and other Comic centric content.The Comics Consultant will provide feedback and ensure that our Comics content is authentic, insightful, and entertaining for our community and fans.
(20%) Event Planning, Activation and Participation
It is possible that the Comics Consultant will join us for live events and participate in-person. This can be a chance to see your ideas come to life. Whether it is a creative installation or a new feature to an event, or a few creative choices that are made differently, we invite you to join us for live events and observe and interact with fans. See what people think of our new projects and provide valuable feedback and support.
Advise on the Comics portion of special events and creative activations. Drawing ideas from other events and concepts, or brainstorming with the team on what we have planned, work closely with the events team to plan and execute live events related to the Comic production, such as fan conventions, premieres, and screenings. The Comics Consultant may also be responsible for conducting Q&A sessions, participating in panel discussions, and other live appearances to promote the series and interact with fans. Additionally, the Comics Consultant will help to manage relationships with external partners and sponsors, ensuring that they are aligned with the values and goals of the Comics-centric production.

Post regular IG wall posts on Sexy Nerds and BKCC IG channels weekly.
Prepare and send out mailing list blasts.
Post updates in Facebook event pages and on key FB groups.
Post weekly raffle giveaway instructional and winner posts on key channels.
(40%) Content Editing and Planning
Participate in strategy meetings and input feedback where helpful.
Report on to do, doing, and done tasks and responsibilities.
Take interest or initiative on certain project points where relevant.
(20%) Event Planning, Activation and Participation
Help us set up and operate our in-person public facing operations.
Help us maximize the engagement with the public and collect key info.
Help us gain feedback and intel from audience and fans.
Be nice, and cool, and chill.
Qualifications Requested:
The Comics Consultant is like a social media manager / brand ambassador hybrid.
Knowledge and experience with online channels and community building.
Dialed into media culture, an early adopter. In tune with the latest channels.
A passion and focus for at least one type of fandom (gaming, comics, anime etc.)
Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects a plus.
Interest in any of: blockchain/crypto, memes, and/or cannabis a plus.
Interest in entrepreneurship/personal development is a plus.
Active or historic member of the Sexy Nerds community is a big plus!
Compensation and Benefits
The Comics Consultant position will start off with a freelance consulting format.
$20/Hr starting rate for 5-10 hours billed per week.
