Job Summary:
As the Event Host for Sexy Nerds, you will play a pivotal role in creating an engaging, fun, and welcoming atmosphere for all party attendees. The Event Host is primarily a role for a cosplayer. Your responsibilities will encompass greeting guests, assisting with wrist-banding, making announcements, handling Instagram Live sessions, accommodating VIP guests, distributing drink tickets, and helping with the setup and breakdown of event equipment. Your energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to providing an exceptional guest experience will ensure the success and enjoyment of our unique events.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet attendees warmly and assist with wristbanding at entry points.
Take charge of Instagram Live sessions, showcasing event highlights and engaging with both physical and online audiences.
Identify and interact with special guests, ensuring they are welcomed and integrated into the event activities.
Distribute drink tickets to special guests in accordance with event policies.
Assist in the setup and breakdown of event equipment, ensuring a smooth operation before, during, and after the event.
Possibly make announcements during the event to inform and entertain guests.
Act as a point of contact for guest inquiries, providing information and assistance as needed.
Work closely with the Creative Director and other team members to ensure a cohesive and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
Key Qualifications:
Successful experience in event hosting, customer service, or a related role.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience in event production, particularly with setup and managing programming.
Proficient and able to work in Google Suites including: Drive, Sheets, Docs, Meet, and other relevant shared work platforms.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Problem-solving ability and adaptability to handle unexpected challenges.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A passion for creating lively and engaging event atmospheres.
Creative thinker with the ability to innovate and problem-solve under pressure.
Ability to work flexible hours, including late nights.
Compensation:
The role offers $25+/hr with details to be discussed.
Working Conditions:
This role involves working unconventional hours, including late evenings and nights, particularly for Sexy Nerds events.
The job requires physical activity, including lifting, carrying, possible equipment or items.
This job requires extended hours during Brooklyn Comic Con weekend, not limited to possibly 10+ hours per day for the weekend.
